At Edntion, we’re always looking for ways to make rostering and integrations work simpler, faster, and smarter for edtech vendors. That’s why we’re excited to launch Webhook Notifications, a feature designed to empower your team with real-time visibility into critical roster data events, so you can automate workflows around them.

Webhook Notifications let your systems stay in the loop, automatically triggering internal workflows whenever data syncs or updates happen.

This means fewer escalations to your engineering team, faster turnaround for support, and more consistent automated workflows.

What this means for your workflow

In a traditional rostering flow, teams monitor logs and scheduled jobs to catch syncs or errors after they occur. With Webhook Notifications, your systems receive immediate updates, enabling faster response and smarter automation across your stack.

Sounds pretty great? Get started now by heading over to the Settings tab in your account.
Scroll to the bottom, and configure your webhook endpoint.

Webhook Events to Power Your Workflows

We have every notification to make your workflow smooth and automated. Here are the notifications you can subscribe to today with your webhook:

Put Your Events to Work: Real World Use Cases

Here are practical examples of how teams are already leveraging these events to automate workflows. Consider your current workflows and platform needs, and subscribe to the notifications that enhance and automate your workflows.

  1. Record sync metrics: Log sync durations and record counts into Datadog or a BI warehouse for performance tracking.
  2. Notify your team via custom workflows: Post a message to an IM channel like Google Chat or Microsoft Teams, or to a project management system. (Slack message notifications are already a built-in feature) Send real-time alerts to PagerDuty, Opsgenie, or Slack/IM channel for triage.
  3. Log structured errors: Pipe detailed payloads into tools like Sentry, DataDog, ELK, or Splunk for debugging trends.
  4. Auto-pause integrations: Temporarily disable dependent processes in your application(s) until resolved.
  5. Dashboard Alerting: Automatically update internal dashboards.
  6. Log rejections for compliance: Store batch rejections in an audit database for audit readiness.
  7. Archive copies of CSVs for compliance: Automatically store batch files from syncs in S3 or Azure Blob for retention.
  8. Run validation pipelines: Trigger data quality checks.
  9. Feed AI models: Notify your favorite AI model and build context around your specific errors and syncs.
  10. Disable dependent jobs: Automatically halt related ETL or data publish jobs.
  11. Automate post-publish actions: Kick off automated internal processes and workflows.
  12. Track roster metrics: Feed into BI dashboards showing “roster freshness” per district.
  13. Feed compliance systems: Send information to a GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) tool.
  14. Mirror RosterStream’s Sync Status in your own edtech application: Display syncing status to users in your own application.
  15. Trigger the API Sync (if using an API publisher): Kick off syncs for your application when not using an event-based model

Webhook Notifications open the door to deeper automation, cleaner workflows, and faster insight across your rostering pipeline. Whether you’re improving support responsiveness, scaling integrations, or strengthening reliability, Ednition is here to give you the notifications to meet all of your needs.
